Keep an Eye Out for Our Local Wildlife!

As you travel along this remote stretch of the Eyre Highway, you'll encounter plenty of signs reminding you to watch out for some of Australia's iconic wildlife, from kangaroos and emus to camels and wombats.

Here at Y-Stop Yalata Roadhouse, they've put a local twist on the traditional animal crossing signs.

The public artworks celebrate two special animals you may encounter along this spectacular coastline: the mulloway and the Southern Right whale.

Keep your eyes peeled as you travel, you never know what you might spot! From wildlife on the roadside to whales out along the coast, the journey through Yalata is a wonderful reminder that you're travelling through a landscape rich in wildlife, culture and natural beauty.
