If there’s a special occasion to celebrate while you’re visiting our region, you might be looking for something a little different to mark the occasion.

We’ve even fielded questions about it on our social media!

So that’s why we’ve put together this short list of ways to celebrate in the region to inspire you, though we also recommend looking a little deeper – there are so many excellent places to do something special (like pop the question!!) or experiences to gift.

1. Glamping in the Lincoln National Park and Gawler Ranges National Park

Stay somewhere a bit different while making the most of the region’s national parks, with a fancy glamping experience! Kata and Belle in the Lincoln National Park and Gawler Ranges Wilderness Safari’s Kangaluna Camp (which you can stay at when booking a tour) in the Gawler Ranges National Park are both excellent options for a little glamour in the wild.

2. Visit a winery

Yes, we have wine! Try Boston Bay Wines for coastal views and local produce menus, Lincoln Estate Wines for tastings plus kangaroo cuddles at the Glen Forest Tourist Park, Peter Teakle Wine’s cellar door and Line and Label Restaurant and Gardner’s Vineyard for BBQs and tastings in a relaxed setting.

3. Take an oyster tour

This is an obvious one, but if you’re a seafood and oyster lover then you can’t go past this experience for celebrating something special! Experience Coffin Bay (by boat), Oyster Farm Tours (walk out wading tours also in Coffin Bay) and Smoky Bay Oyster Farm Tours (from a custom dining platform in the water) will all show you a great time.

4. Enjoy dinner

And another obvious one – you can always go for a nice diner! The Foreshore Hotel in Ceduna, Drift Streaky Bay and perennial favourites Del Giorno’s and the Lincoln Hotel in Port Lincoln are just a few of the options available. Local pubs across the EP offer regional produce too!

5. Take a scenic flight

Celebrate by soaring high with a scenic flight, whether that’s a 20-minute experience or a full day adventure! Chinta Air will provide you with something special to remember the occasion, whatever it happens to be.

6. Try a foodie experience on a day tour

But back to food experiences – treat your loved one to a one-day tour highlighting all the delicious local produce from the region. Think seafood fresh from the water and local beer, wine and coffee. Check out Australian Coastal SafarisUntamed EscapesEP Cruises and Tour South. You’ll also catch some of the most beautiful and untouched environments you’ll find anywhere.

7. Explore somewhere new by staying in these hidden gem accommodation options

We’re not just talking the popular ones here, like The Greenly CarriageEcoEyre Eco PodsTanonga Luxury Eco Lodges and Eyre Way (though of course those too). Go a little further and check out some of our smaller and lesser known hosts, like Olive House KimbaCleve Accommodation Units and Granite Domes near Minnipa for a little home away from home to get cosy and break out the bubbly. You can use them as bases to explore this incredible region!
