Have you ever considered swimming with cuttlefish, but were put off by the thought of cold water on a cold winter’s day? We are too.

Well, there’s a new solution to be found – a glass bottom boat tour!

Cuttys Tours are a new provider offering a way to see these spectacular, colourful creatures from the comfort of the boat’s deck in a warm jumper.Cuttys Tours

Operating out of Whyalla, the tours depart from the Point Lowly area at two different locations depending on the weather.

Giant Australian Cuttlefish flock to the waters around the city, with peak season in June and July when breeding is in full swing.

In fact, SA is the only place in the world where these wonderfully weird creatures reliably congregate on mass every year.

They’re large (the largest of all cuttlefish species in fact), masters of camouflage with their ever-changing colours, and have three hearts, eight arms and two tentacles.

Some people have described them as ‘alien-like’…

Each journey is just an hour round-trip, and guests will be able to see other local marine life as the boat cruises along – how good!

You can book your tour or find more information via the Cuttys Tours website.
