Southern Eyre Peninsula


With names such as Coffin Bay, Port Lincoln, The Sir Joseph Banks Groups the Southern Eyre Peninsula offers some of the most diverse fishing experiences in Australia.

With sheltered bays such as Boston Bay, Proper Bay and Coffin Bay even the smallest of the boaties will get a chance to wet the oars and enjoy fishing for whiting, garfish, mullet and trevally. Those wil larger vessels will get the opportunity to visit some of the islands further afield and test their gear on species such as the Southern Blue Fin Tuna, Snapper, Nannygai, Sampson and others.

For those that like to keep their feet firmly on the ground the landscape of the Southern Eyre Peninsula really allows something for everyone. You will find protected beaches and jetties in Tumby Bay, Louth Bay, Port Lincoln, Coffin Bay and Mount Dutton Bay to name a few these all produce a variety of catches including whiting, mullet, garfish, the occasional crabs and squid.

For those that like a little more adventure the rugged southern coastline of the Lincoln and Coffin Bay National Parks as well as areas such as Whalers Way, Gallipoli Beach, Mt Greenly and Mt Drummond offer awesome beach and rock fishing for salmon, snapper and sweep.
