Eyre Peninsula presented at Tourism Awards

11 businesses from the Eyre Peninsula will compete against some of South Australia’s finest visitor experiences at the 2014 South Australian Tourism Awards.
The Awards Gala Dinner, Tourism’s Night of Nights, will be held at the Adelaide Convention Centre on Friday 14th of November and will showcase some of the State’s highest quality attractions, restaurants, cellar doors, accommodation businesses and more.
Last year’s winners from the Eyre Peninsula were Adventure Bay Charters and Rodney Fox Shark Expeditions- Great White Adventure.
South Australian Tourism Industry Council Chief Executive Ward Tilbrook says South Australia’s tourism experiences are world class, with the Eyre Peninsula home to some of Australia’s best tourism operators and businesses.
“These awards are essential in the continuous development of South Australia as a tourism destination. It is a whole of business award with a comprehensive criteria that showcases the professionalism and achievements of our State’s tourism experiences,” Mr Tilbrook says.
“A Tourism Award win or medal is a powerful accolade for a business to hold in this competitive tourism environment, and enhances a business’ reputation in the eyes of the consumer.”
The prestigious awards attracted 125 entries this year across 30 categories, with category winners going on to represent South Australia at a national level next year.
“I wish all entrants the best of luck at the 2014 South Australian Tourism Awards and am looking forward to seeing the Eyre Peninsula strongly represented in our list of category winners,” Mr Tilbrook says.
“I welcome all those involved in our tourism industry to come along, as ‘Tourism’s Night of Nights’ is more than an awards ceremony; it’s a celebration, an opportunity to enjoy each other’s company and build our business relationships.”
